Evan Bush is a highly experienced soccer professional and coach with an 18-year playing career, including 15 years in Major League Soccer (MLS). As a current GK for the Columbus Crew and a four-year starter at the University of Akron (Class of 2008), Bush developed a strong foundation in elite-level competition that carried into a long and successful professional career. His extensive playing experience at the highest levels of the game provides him with a unique perspective and deep understanding of player development, performance demands, and the mental aspects required to succeed.
Experience
As a coach, Bush holds a USSF “B” Coaching License and has quickly established himself as a dedicated and knowledgeable coach, particularly in goalkeeper development. In 2024, he served as the goalkeeper coach at Ohio Dominican University while also working as an assistant coach with Classics Eagles (2024–2026). His coaching background also includes valuable experience with Ohio North ODP, GK1, Cleveland Goalkeeper Academy, and private training, where he has worked closely with goalkeepers of varying ages and skill levels to refine technique, improve decision-making, and build confidence.
Bush’s coaching approach emphasizes technical precision, game-realistic training, and the development of strong fundamentals, especially for goalkeepers. He is committed to creating a positive and challenging environment that pushes players to grow while maintaining a passion for the game. Drawing from nearly two decades of professional experience, Bush brings leadership, insight, and a player-centered mindset while helping young athletes build on their enjoyment of the game.
